Bluegrass Time


Les Sears was born into a musical family and named after the great Lester Flatt. Both sides of the family
all sang and played string music as a great pastime. Les plays Guitar,Bass, Piano and even the Accordion.He Emcees many events including several Bluegrass Festivals. His home is in Rich Creek (Giles County)
Virginia in the Summer and presently Arcadia, Florida during the Winter.He is widowed…his wife of 46 years,Gladys, passed away in January 2017.

Les does quite a few voice characterizations and has entertained folks for years having retired in 2005 as a
U.S. Postmaster with the Postal Service. He has performed with several groups and attends IBMA and SPBGMA each year and is often seen jamming with other performers. He is also a International Extra Class Amateur Radio Operator with a callsign of K4HYE.


He enjoys Bluegrass and has an extensive collection of music and is considered a historian of the Bluegrass
genre. He is going on 14 years as a radio DJ… Les invites everyone to tune into his Show every Sunday evening from 6-8 PM EST for a “Heaping Helping” of great Bluegrass and his Southern Hospitality!
