William was born in Greensboro, NC and raised in the Gibsonville area. Ever since the television days of the Beverly Hillbillies (Flatt & Scruggs) and the Andy Griffith show (The Dilliards) he has been a huge fan of bluegrass music along with the instruments, the musicians, the harmony, and the history of the lonesome sound. Even when Hee Haw came along he couldn’t wait for the “pickin & grinning” portion of the show. He never took the time to learn to play any instruments but loves to hear them being played. William has been to numerous bluegrass festivals especially in N.C. and always looks forward to the next one. He has a lot of respect to “all musicians” involved with bluegrass as he feels that is where the talent really is. When not listening to bluegrass, William enjoys spending time with his 3 grandsons.
