Their most recent single, “Good Thing Gone Wrong,” perfectly showcases their knack for selecting strong material and performing it with artistry. Penned by Robert Earl Davis, the song exudes a trance-like quality while channeling the spirit of the Stanley Brothers. Amanda’s lead vocals stand out, complemented by the band’s harmonies and instrumentation.

Recording with Heart and History

The Smiths sincerely appreciate their musical influences, as evidenced by their choice of “Good Thing Gone Wrong.” They first encountered the song at an IBMA luncheon showcase, where they were introduced to The Earl Brothers. The connection to the music was instant, and they knew they wanted to record one of their songs. The recording took place at Gat 3 Studios in Charlotte, NC, a location that has been part of their musical journey since their album “House Down The Block” over twenty years ago.
