Only Board meetings. We host events throughout the year for our
membership.

Cost to join:

Annual Membership: Individual -$25, Family -$40, Band/Venue -$50,
Supporting -$100, Sponsoring -$250, Super Hero -$500, *Lifetime Star -$1,000

Mission Statement:

DC Bluegrass Union works to support the local bluegrass community. We strive to
keep the bluegrass musical tradition strong for a new generation of musicians and fans.

Membership:

Although memberships are not available nationally, DC Bluegrass Union gladly accepts memberships from residents of the Washington D.C. metro area to
include, Maryland, D.C., and Virginia. 

Maintaining a centralized location has helped keep costs controllable and memberships affordable for everyone in these areas.

What benefits will members receive for joining?

DCBU members receive discounts on
concerts, event updates by email, an open invitation to the annual DCBU picnic and
barbecue jam session, and a subscription the DCBU newsletter. Mostly, the members
receive the joy of community.

Do you host performances to promote the organization?

With the help of our members
as volunteers and donors, DCBU hosts the DC Bluegrass Festival, DCBU Bluegrass and
Old-Time Camp, band contests, jam sessions, and online resources. Our website lists our
members’ shows as well as nearby jams and classes. We have a directory of local bands
and artists as well as links to teachers and luthiers serving the Washington bluegrass
community.

Background of the organization:

DCBU has been in existence for over ten years.
We hope maintain the vibrant bluegrass community that made Washington known as the
Bluegrass Capital of the World.

Goals for the organization:

We hope to introduce the next generations to this traditional,
community-building music.
