What’s the history behind the band?
Echo Valley has been entertaining people of all ages since 2009 with their variety of traditional bluegrass, gospel, Celtic, and folk styles. With their unique blend of six sisters and one brother, this group impresses with their superb stage presence, musicianship, sibling harmonies and multi-instrument talents.
Audiences are captivated with Elizabeth’s fun-filled guitar playing and rich song arranging; Emily’s award-winning fiddling; Isabelle’s soulful mandolin picking; Olivia’s multi-instrumental talents; Emmaline’s fabulous bass slapping; Annamae’s sweet soprano; and David’s show-stopping vocals!
Echo Valley has played regularly for the major bluegrass festivals in western Pennsylvania including the Three Rivers Arts Festival in Pittsburgh, St. Joseph’s House of Hospitality Charity Bluegrass concert, Coleman Station and local festivals.
In the summer of 2017, they performed with The Farm Hands during their show at the Lawerence County Fair and opened for Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper at Coleman Station!
In May 2018, the siblings had the thrill of performing at Dollywood for their Barbeque and Bluegrass festival.
The band’s self-titled debut album came out in April 2016 and their second album, “Rise and Shine”, was released January 2018.
When not out performing, the siblings are hard at work on the family farm in western Pennsylvania.
What influences have helped to mold you into the person and/or band you are today?
We grew up watching the local, talent-packed, bluegrass bands in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area. They have all befriended, inspired and encouraged us throughout the years.
Do you have scheduled appearances coming up?
We will be at the Coleman Station Bluegrass Festival on July 28th. They have a great line up with bands such as Darin and Brooke Aldridge, The Kody Norris Show, Highland Travelers and many more! We also play a ton in the western Pennsylvania area. Check out our site for our full schedule. Be on the look out for Echo Valley performing near you in 2019!
What recordings do you have available?
We currently have two albums, Echo Valley (2016) and Rise and Shine (2018). Both are available on our site and Rise and Shine is available on all the popular destinations such as itunes, amazon, and CD baby.
What is the greatest highlight you’ve had so far in this career?
We had the incredible opportunity to perform for three days at Dollywood in May 2018 for their Barbeque and Bluegrass festival! In addition to performing there, we also got to meet Rhonda Vincent. We gave her one of our band t-shirts which she promptly put on! We still can’t stop smiling!
What’s the next step for the band and/or members of the band?
The Grand Ole Opry for sure! 🙂
Our next step is coming later this year with the release of our Christmas EP in the fall! We would like to continue to grow and always look forward to new places in the bluegrass circuit. Be on the look out for us!
