David Pugh shows

David was born, and raised in Parkersburg, W.Va.  He started playing Mountain Music, with his dad, when he was 10 years old.  His dad transferred to Kentucky, when he was just 12.  David continued to play, and sing primarily old country songs until he saw The Osborne Brothers in 1966.  At this moment, David fell in love with Bluegrass Music, and he went out and bought a mandolin.  He grew up on The Osborne Brothers, Bill Monroe, Jim and Jesse, and Flatt & Scruggs.  He had a band for years, with his dad.  His biggest thrill was getting to play Renfro Valley, in the foot hills of Kentucky.
Being from West Virginia, and primarily Kentucky, David settled on the name Mountain Bluegrass for his online show.  David still sings, and plays mandolin and guitar.  He has a background in radio going back to 1976.  He worked for several classic country stations in his earlier years, as well as a large FM Southern Gospel Station.  He brings his love of Classic Country, Bluegrass, and Traditional Gospel to TheBluegrassJamboree.
David brings in a lot of guests for live interviews every week, and plays a great mix of mountain bluegrass that he hopes you will enjoy.  His Mountain Bluegrass Top 12 countdowns, have been something his listeners look forward to every week.  David’s personality shines through on the radio, as he fulfills his passion, and you reap the benefits.
