Jim Hughes has enjoyed Bluegrass festivals ever since his wife Jane first asked him along to the former Winterhawk weekend in New York during the mid-1970’s. Raising their two sons Chris and Ben on weekend getaways to see iconic Bluegrass bands during the 1990’s lead to finding friends in musicians and fans alike. Jim began volunteering as a DJ soon after the family moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, at a program called Bradford Street Bluegrass on WOMR 92.1 FM. After a while, Ben joined him as co-host, and during the next ten years, they would interview many artists, broadcast live performances, hold world premiere on-air events for both singles and albums, and emcee live festivals like the IBMA World of Bluegrass concert series.
