The Kevin Prater Band hails from Eastern Kentucky mountains, delivering a unique blend of “Coal-Fired Pure Kentucky Bluegrass.” Their music also incorporates Classic Country, Grassed Vintage Rock, Original Songs, and emotion-filled Bluegrass Gospel elements. The band is often celebrated for their stellar harmonies and acapella singing. Kevin Prater, the band’s leader, has an impressive musical journey that began at the age of seven. His God-given vocal and musical talents have taken him to 24 countries and 49 states, leaving fans worldwide impressed.
How the band started
After years as a sideman with various Bluegrass Legends, Kevin Prater decided to step out on his own with the support of fellow band member and banjo player Tom Timberlake. 2009 The Kevin Prater Band was formed, showcasing the multi-talented members vocally and instrumentally, making them a fan favorite. Kevin has moved from being one of the best sidemen in Bluegrass to leading his own talented and unique band, creating that Pure Kentucky Sound of The Kevin Prater Band.
