About the Show

Bluegrass In The Valley first aired in the fall of 2005 with the goal of giving listeners the finest in bluegrass, bluegrass gospel and new acoustic music. Tim and Rita believe that every style has something to contribute to furthering the music we all enjoy.

Introducing Tim and Rita

Tim Strong comes from a bluegrass family. His Dad, George, instilled the love of bluegrass in Tim from a young age and encouraged him throughout the years. Tim’s first gig was at the age of 13 and since that time he has been a bluegrass staple in the Cincinnati, Ohio area.  Tim also owns a recording studio, TCB Sound, and is looking forward to the opportunities to provide quality recording. Most recently, Tim has played guitar and sang harmony vocals with The Missy Werner Band and has performed with such national acts as Chris Jones & The Night Drivers, Don Rigsby, Peter Rowan and others.

Rita Small became involved in bluegrass in 2005 and continues to grow in her knowledge of the music. In addition to programming the radio show, she keeps the show’s website and social media pages up to date and works with artists to schedule interviews.  Rita spent some time publishing reviews for Prescription Bluegrass. Her biggest enjoyment is searching out new artists and sharing their music with other bluegrass fans.

Both Tim and Rita are excited about joining The Bluegrass Jamboree family and look forward to sharing the finest in bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, new acoustic music and country grass with the listeners.
