Les was born to a musical family and named after the great Lester Flatt. Both sides of the family all sang and played music as a great pastime. Les plays guitar, bass, piano and even the accordion. He emcees many events including several Festivals. He and wife Gladys lives in Rich Creek, VA..They have 7 children, 16 grandchildren,and 18 great-grandchildren.

Les does quite a few voice characterzations and has entertained folks for years performing in several groups. He attends IBMA and SPBGMA and can be seen jamming with many other musicians.

Les enjoys Bluegrass and has an extensive collection of music and is considered a historian of the genre. He invites everyone to tune in to his show. ” Bluegrass Time” every Sunday evening from 6 – 8 PM ESTfor a heaping helping of his southern hospitality.

      Les, I enjoyed singing & playing with you at the Thompson reunion this afternoon. Great job on the show too. I listened to it on my drive back to Roanoke.
